I was born in Indonesia and grew up in Singapore and Hong Kong as my parents worked in both countries since I was 7 years old. I came to the United States as an International Student for my undergraduate studies, and eventually immigrated here after working and attending graduate school.
My career path in becoming a mental health counselor is not a direct path and I appreciate the different work and life experiences that have become assets in my counseling style. I have worked in corporate settings, Student Affairs and Services at higher-ed institutions, non-profit community substance use MAT clinic and rehab facility, consulted and collaborated with universities regarding program deliveries and as a freelance designer. I also have presented locally and internationally.
I appreciate my client’s strengths and resilience as they maneuver through the challenges in different stages of their lives. My style is a blend of creativity, mindfulness, warmth, and collaboration. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients and guide them through self-discovery and self-compassion to find balance in their lives.
